Education

I have acquired a diverse number of skills from my work in the hospitality industry and qualities that I already possess that could be applied to this role. In working with customers on a face-face basis almost daily I have developed a very sociable personality and become an effective communicator, connecting with a large number of people from many diverse backgrounds. I am used to working in a fast paced environment with a large team in which everyone has to give individual contributions to for the success of the task.

About Me

My degree taught me how films can address audiences and what effect these addresses have on audiences and how to critically evaluate films; I believe I can transfer my film studies knowledge over to online media forms. My undergraduate degree has also shown that I am a creative person and that I am adept at using new technologies, I have produced ideas for a wide range of film briefs, allowing me to enhance my filming and production skills. Along with the audio and visual content skills that I have gained from the films that I have made, I have acquired training with technical aspects of filmmaking such as using a variety of cameras, sound equipment and editing packages, which has enhanced my IT skills as I have been able to easily understand how to operate equipment and software packages.

Research skills: essay research via library/Internet

IT Skills: Microsoft Office, several internet browsers, e-mail.

Technical skills: adept in editing packages; Avid Media, Final Cut Pro, After Effects. Camera and Sound recording equipment.

Willingness to learn: acquired new skills through employment, and return to education.

Teamwork: enjoy and am good at working in both team environments and independently.

Problem solving: involvement in complex, low-budget projects, with time constraints and   creating schedules based around the availability of a large number of people.

Communication skills: used to working in a very sociable environment meeting new people everyday.

Self-motivation/management: successfully completing university tasking while maintaining a part-time job that requires night shift work.

Providing excellent customer service: customer focused employment in busy work                environments.

Creativity: producing film ideas, editing short films, writing film scripts and reviews, creating marketing campaigns.

I first became interested in digital Marketing and working within social media during my undergraduate degree when I created a transmedia campaign for the rerelease of a classic film. During this task I was able to advance my knowledge of how social media can be used in a marketing environment, and it helped me to realise that this could be an area that I would be able to apply my strengths to gain a career in.

I consider myself to be media savvy, culturally aware and I understand how to address audiences through different media forms from my Bachelors degree in film studies. I am very adaptable to different situations so I think that I would be able to work in most environments but would most prefer a type of work where I am not in the same location everyday as I enjoy variety. The type of job that I think would best suit myself would be a job that involves me working with clients on a daily basis trying to meet their needs in producing content for them. I am a motivated, energetic, and organised individual and have had experience working to strict deadlines through the work that I have carried out both in and out of university. I have had to take on large workloads that require me to plan events and people effectively so that tasks can be carried out, shown in my role as production manager for the films that I have made and my work in creating production schedules while at university. My degree has shown that I am also a very creative person that can produce ideas for a wide range of briefs.
